Introduction This course is aimed at providing students with fundamental skills in adult and community education.
General Aims: Have a basic understanding of how adults learn · Be able to apply theories and philosophies of Adult & Community Education in their teaching practice · Be able to design, implement and evaluate adult learning programmes · Adopt a flexible and creative approach to education
Course Aim The aim of the course is to provide students with the practical skills and a conceptual framework for working with adults in community education.

Admission Requirements
· 21 years or older. · Have experience in Adult & Community Education · Have the capacity to complete a course at NUI Certificate level
Assessment Procedures
· 85% minimum attendance · Essay & Project work · Learning Journal · Teaching Practicum

100 hours tutor contact: including days on NUIM campus
