Let’s Get cooking!

At West Wicklow Youthreach Blessington, learners and staff have been enjoying fantastic healthy meals made by the learners.  Cooking has been integrated into the programme through the Personal Effectiveness component of the Level 4 General Learning award.

Tutor Caroline McCabe has been working tirelessly with the learners and Personal Effectiveness tutors to ensure the guidelines for the component are met and to provide a healthy meal for all to enjoy.  Leading learners must plan the menu or dish, shop for the food on a budget, organise the cooking team, give a health and safety speech, cook and serve to the remaining fellow leaners and staff under the guidance of Caroline.
